West Gahanna Gateway, Phase Two

The focus of this phase of the West Gahanna Gateway Plan was to visually reduce the scale of State Route 62 as it transitions from a limited access highway to a city street.  A raised median containing trees, low plantings and street lighting was designed, in cooperation with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), to improve aesthetics, reduce vehicle speeds and increase safety for both motorists and pedestrians.  The structural wall design criteria were established by ODOT, but we were able to include integrated color in the concrete as well as scoring and sandblasting the finished surface.
