West Gahanna Gateway, Phase One

The West Gahanna Gateway Plan has redeveloped the entryway into this suburban community. This study proposes ways to soften the appearance of State Route 62 as it changes from a limited access highway entry to a village center road. The new entryway includes a welcome arch over the road, stone wall details, extensive plantings, as well as pedestrian friendly modifications to the bridge crossing Big Walnut Creek. We worked very closely with Gahanna citizens, elected officials, and city staff members as well as with the Ohio Department of Transportation, to create an appealing entryway plan while increasing safety and convenience for both motorists and pedestrians. We prepared, submitted and secured a $400,000 ISTEA Grant For the project’s construction.
