Market Street Stormwater Plan Review

My services were requested by the The Friends of the Big Walnut Creek (Friends) to review the stormwater design associated with a new development project adjacent to Rose Run.  Because Rose Run is a high quality stream that has declined due to development, the Friends are very concerned about any and all development in the watershed.  The majority of the stakeholders desired a plan that would address water quality more effectively than would be achieved by a standard storm sewer and detention basin design.  Through a series of stakeholder meetings and design reviews, a system of bio-swales and bio-basins were incorporated in the plan.  The new plan addresses water quality and volume while reducing high point source discharge.
