Nationwide Arena Park

Redevelopment in downtown Columbus is currently focused on the riverfront and an interconnected park system is a key component. Arena Park is designed to link the riverfront with the heart of the Arena District. This long, triangular stretch of open space provides a means of pedestrian and visual access across the entire redevelopment area. The park combines a classic element of Columbus’ past with the promise of a new thriving downtown by placing the Daniel Burnham Arch from the historic Union Station as a focal point of the design. The theme continues with low stone walls forming a crisp border to the grand lawn, while stately tree rows provide natural dissolve into the surrounding urban fabric. A true civic open space, Arena Park will serve as the centerpiece for Columbus community functions for years to come.
